The boys wrestled great in Minnewaska, winning 30 (23 by pin) of the 41 matches wrestled by our guys. Wins are great and help the process, but is not the sole focus or end game. We are always looking for improvement and that comes in different ways for each individual on our team (especially with our new guys on the team this year that are still finding their way). Sometimes the goal isn’t necessarily winning a match, but for example: to get a particular take-down with a set-up we have been working on or simply going the whole match without getting pinned. Improving in all 3 positions, learning new attacks, building mental toughness, keeping intensity/focus, being accountable, wrestling with good sportsmanship, and transitioning those skills from the practice room onto the competition mat will continue to be a huge focus for our JV team. Saturday was a ton of fun seeing our guys improve whether it came with wins or the smaller goals that we set within matches! Additionally, Thanks to the loud/proud parents for supporting our team from the stands cheering with positive comments. Truly a memorable day! Next up for the Cards is the Howard Lake Invite on Saturday Jan. 20th. Hope to see you there. Go Cards!
